Pamper Yourself On A Budget

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Honestly we are all women who like to get our nails and toesies done! ( yes I recognize that's not a word lol) but we all deserve to treat ourselves. A lot of us have kids, work full time, and are married. Somehow we're just able to balance it out you know why? because it is just our motherly instincts. Most of us put our families, and secular work ahead of ourselves. Even though we do all of these things on a daily basis we deserve to treat ourselves. Personally I am not as busy as working mothers so I praise them for that. They really have my respect they are such amazing super moms. We all need to get pampered once in awhile, and not feel guilty about it. Even if it's just in our homes and we're on a budget Here's some quick tips on how I treat myself at home.

1. TAKE A BUBBLE BATH

My #1 favorite thing to do is take a bubble bath daily. I know i'm an Adult, but I love relaxing in a warm bubbly bath. I have a casual glass of wine and a nice scented lit candle. It gives me time to unwind from work, and other secular activities. The bath is a place where I can really de-stress from the day. It is a time where I just think about me for the moment, and I enjoy every second of it. I use the Dr. Teals bubble bath line they have various essential oils infused in them. For example there is one for sleeping, sore muscles, nourishing your skin etc. You can buy Dr. Teal's at your local grocery shop. Usually I add bath salts when I soak, my personal favorite is from Graciela's Goodies. She is so talented at making Bath & Body products, and their affordable with cute packaging. Graciela is also a good family friend so go support her handmade goodies! #buylocal (Graciela's Goodies Link)

2. TREAT YOURSELF TO A HAIR MASK

Not all of us can afford to go to a hair salon regularly. To be frank women's haircuts cost a fortune! It makes me jealous of men. Since most of us are on a budget our hair tends to get a bit frayed. My favorite hair mask I've used is the EVA NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. It smells delicious it repairs and strengthens the hair. It really is important to deep condition your hair and give it the nutrients it deserves. Leave it in for 10-15 minutes, masks usually call for 5min, but I want to make sure my hair gets all the vitamins it can. If you're really on a budget I would substitute coconut oil it contains fatty acids to nourish the scalp.

3. GIVE YOURSELF A FACE MASK

For those who are busy my favorite is definitely a sheet mask. I always put on my favorite cute fluffy hair band (as seen on the photo purchased from Forever 21) I love sheet masks not only because they feel luxurious, and make my skin silky. They're also affordable go to your local Target, Ulta, or asian market. If you live in Utah I adore the Asian City in West Jordan. I find sheet masks for as low as $1. Also when I went to target the other day I saw sheet masks by Yes To on sale. Once you're done with the mask do not discard it place the essence on your neck as well! take care of your neck avoid getting a sagging turkey neck as long as you can LOL!

4. APPLY NIGHT CREAM

IF you're pampering yourself at night. It's very important to put a night treatment before bed. My favorite is the Origins High-Potency since it replenishes, and renews my skin in the morning. This is just my preference, but there are so many night creams out there that work well.

5.  GIVE YOURSELF AN EYE TREATMENT & NEVER SKIP EYE CREAM

When I pamper myself I usually apply cucumber eye pads. They comfort the skin and relieve puffiness, and dark circles. ( Ulta carries the cucumber eye pads by Earth Therapeutics for $7!) No matter what time of the day it is never skip eye cream! They age our delicate skin on the eyes, and begin to wrinkle, sag, and create dark circles. Eye cream is vital to have an appearance of more youthful eyes. Our eyes need hydration so find the one that is most relevant for your needs.

6.PAINT YOUR NAILS

I love having cute toes and nails, but sometimes I cant afford to get a Mani Pedi. My favorite line right now is the KL Polish. They're long lasting, don't chip, and are great quality. Plus I'm already a Kathleen Lights fan and she is doing well on her nail polish line.

7. WEAR YOUR FAVORITE PAJAMAS

Another one of my favorite things to do is to change in my pajamas. When i change into my favorite cozy clothes it is so liberating. Nothing is better then being in your own comfort so put on those fuzzy pants and socks girl!

8. READ YOUR RECENT BOOK OR WATCH YOUR FAVORITE SHOW

When I am able to watch my favorite show or read a book it is so relaxing. I get to catch up on my beloved show or book and have some more personal time. I love getting lost in the blankets and making a little cocoon for myself. Sometimes I am a real home body, and I need the time to recharge myself from the work week.

9. EAT YOUR FAVORITE TREAT

I am not saying to over indulge here and be a fatty lol! There definitely needs to be a balance for our health. Every now and then it is nice to have your favorite treat. My personal favorite is having a scoop of yummy gelato. It tastes so refreshing, and crisp I just love the creamy texture of it. I think I want some now just thinking about it ( Jk it is not my treat day 😪)

10. GET A MASSAGE

If you can you should definitely get a massage our bodies need it. We carry so much stress on our bodies from day to day life. Massages help with anxiety, headaches, and joint pain. I know I am long overdue for a massage, and need one ASAP If you live in Downtown SLC there is a Massage school named Healing Mountain, they have tons of different deals for as low as $30! Also don't forget to look at Groupon they have tons of local options as well.
